My friend Mohamed lives in Lungi, Sierra Leone, and works closely with communities to educate, come together, and improve day-to-day life from the ground up. From education about local wildlife, including Sierra Leone's national animal, the chimpanzee (in association with Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary) to revitalizing local beaches, he is making the world a better place one step at a time.

Right now, Mohamed is putting his all into cleaning beaches, both with and for the community. Having seen the destruction and pollution caused by plastic in the ocean and local landscapes, he has brought together a team to put things to rights. You can see in the photos the incredible difference they have made already, at Yurika Beach Community in Lokomasama Chiefdom, in Portloko District.

In order to carry on doing this safely, the team need equipment such as rakes, gloves, hand sanitizer, and bags. With your help, they can continue transforming the beaches of Sierra Leone from hazardous plastic dumping grounds into clean, safe community areas.
