Belinda is an active, vibrant and loving mother, grandmother and wife. She loves to do crafts and often sets up tables at craft fairs to raise a little extra cash. She has MS and has been disabled and wheelchair bound since 2002 when her youngest son was entering kindergarten.

Think about it for one minute. What would you do if you were no longer able to jump in a car and drive wherever you please? Work, church, dinner with friends or family, grocery store.

What if you weren’t even able to jump in a friend or family member’s car so they can take you somewhere?

Public transportation? No. That’s been a nightmare for her. Getting stuck at doctors offices for hours waiting for a driver to return.

The only vehicle they own is a 1999 wheel chair accessible Dodge van that has been in the shop numerous times for repairs. We would love to be able to help her get the down payment on a newer one that is more reliable. MobilityWorks has been looking for an appropriate vehicle, but she and her husband will have to pay for it. 

A newer, more reliable accessibility van will allow Belinda to continue to be active in her church, community and with her two grandchildren. Belinda can not transfer from a wheel chair to a car. She has to have a vehicle that a wheel chair can go into. 

Belinda is my sister and I know she will be grateful and so thankful for the support of everyone in getting the funds for a good down payment on the vehicle when the right one is located. We thank you for anything you can do for her and this cause. No amount is too small. Every dollar is greatly appreciated! Every share of her story is welcomed. Thank you all for your big hearts!
