Mark here, aka "The Shower guy." In the beginning we were known as SHOWUP. Now we are known as Showers by Touchstone. Same faces, same places just a different name. We provide showers, food, blankets and clothes to our un-housed patrons in the greater Sacramento area. During this time of crisis we are the tip of the spear to provide essential needs to the un-housed community. Thanks to your donations we have been able to provide showers for over 100,000 showers and an amazing amount of lunches/meals as well as several tons of clothes. . EVERY individual gets new underwear and socks with a shower as well as clothes, shoes, Blankets, sleeping bags and tents if we have them available. Currently we are going through a cold winter and there is very little space available in the shelters. Even for those who are ready to try to make that change. With the housing issues, unemployment/layoffs, Government shutdown, food stamp issues and business closing down we need your continued help so we have the ability to continue to provide the essential things to help, at the very least, sustain life. Our team at Showers by Touchstone understand that we we are not here to solve the un-housed crisis or even to try and stop it. However, we understand it is an issue and people simply need help and thats what we do.
