In January 2020 just a few weeks before Elke our oldest daughter was born we lost my Dad Peter to Motor Neuron Disease just 13 months after he was diagnosis. Motor Neuron Disease affects the nerve cells between the brain and spinal cord. These neurones gradually become damaged, and eventually die, causing muscle weakening which ultimately waste away effecting simple movements such as walking, talking, breathing and swallowing. It is a truly devastating disease to witness. There is no known cause, no treatment, and currently no cure.

Each year following dad’s death Jacq and I dedicate a month to raising funds for @mndnsw who support families living with this horrible disease with a physical challenge.

This year we are both going to challenge ourselves by every day doing a physical challenge linked to a MND statistic.
