With the onset of this harsh winter, Gaza's streets have turned into lakes, and homes have filled with unforgiving cold water.

Entire families have lost what little shelter they had left after long months of suffering. Children shiver from the cold, mothers try to remove water from their wet beds, and elders sit in deserted corners, awaiting a miracle to save them from this sudden drowning.

In one neighborhood, the Abu Youssef family lives in a small room that lost its roof months ago. On a rainy night, the water level rose until it completely flooded the room's floor. The father carried his three children to a high place, while the mother collected what remained of their wet clothes in a desperate attempt to save them.

That night was not an exception… it has become a daily reality for tens of thousands.

Today, the people of Gaza face not only the cold, but also drowning, lack of shelter, and shortages of blankets and food.

Every drop of water that enters a home there means another night without warmth, without safety, and without the ability to carry on.
