MMIWG activist struggling with foreclosure
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Camryn and a new friend of mine, Earth, is a single parent with three kids who is trying to navigate the stress of a foreclosure on their home.
Earth is an Indigenous activist who primarily advocates for unhoused people with Bear Clan Beaver Hills House, and for MMIWG. She puts in countless hours, effort, and love into the people of her community and it is time community steps up for her and her children.
In the midst of the foreclosure on her home, Earth is dealing with an exploitative landlord that is not responding to her messages, has changed his number, will not give her deposit back, and lied about the foreclosure in the first place (yet she must rely on his reference to even GET a new place). Due to her practicum for her post-secondary education in Indigenous Language Revitalization, she cannot get a job until after June 18th, and must find a job over the summer if she is to support herself and her children until September when she receives renewed funding for school.
"As for the sale of this place because I am the tenant, legally, the seller and buyer do not have to inform me if the place has sold or not, only notify me to vacate.
so I am left waiting for notification of whether or not I need to vacate the property within 30 days, while searching for an affordable place with basically no form of income or rental references."
This stress is more than anyone should bear, especially alone. Please help me in giving back to someone who gives to others so much and so tirelessly.
