We are working hard here at Floralia to create a full menu and an inviting restaurant space, and we want to let you know our plan for Floralia's future!

Ever wondered what's behind the glass doors of our 1124 Kona st location? Well, wonder no longer! We have a sizable indoor space that we plan on designing into a beautiful multi-use restaurant and community space for vegan events. This plan would entirely renovate the 600 square foot indoor space, including installing 9’ tall glass doors that will slide open to create an airy 16ft opening to the courtyard. With this, you will be able to dine inside while still enjoying the openness of our courtyard and the pleasant nighttime air. We will also build modular furniture as well as a full cocktail bar. You read that right, soon you will be able to pair your pizza with a nice glass of wine or a house cocktail!

We want to be as transparent as possible so here is our plan for the funds raised:

From our humble beginnings popping up on the North Shore of Oahu over 7 years ago to our time on Monsarrat Ave with our friends from Banan. It has been a long and often difficult road to get to where we are today. In 2020 our plans to open a brick and mortar were put on hold indefinitely when the pandemic hit. As the pandemic dragged on the future of the business was less than certain, but we persevered and found a beautiful spot in the heart of Honolulu to pop up at. With the incredible support of our local community we survived the worst of the pandemic and were able to secure a long-term lease on the property. With the lease in hand, we decided it was time to create a one-of-a-kind full-service plant-based Italian restaurant and bar. We rebranded as Floralia to better reflect this evolution and set to work on building our vision. To support the cost of the build-out we have remained open and have done nearly the entirety of the construction ourselves.

Throughout the years we have continuously worked on our craft, creating ever more realistic cheese and meat alternatives while perfecting our pizza making. R&D is a big part of what we do as we believe the best vegan advocacy is simply creating delicious food that leaves nothing to be desired. We have a lot in the works including New York style pizza - think large crispy pies with slices you fold, super cheesy calzonesf, fresh pasta, more salads, appetizers, and desserts including ice cream!

Here are some pictures of the work we have accomplished over the past year at our 1124 Kona st location.

We completed redid our patio area from the ground up!
We installed the iconic bus and spent countless hours turning it into a kitchen space,
It may have taken us a while but we now have a beautiful bathroom we are proud of (with a shower so we can still have a morning surf session before getting to work :D)
We completely transformed the patio space with a brand new deck, new chairs, large umbrellas, and added more tables to fit all of you in here!


As you can see we are working hard to build an inviting courtyard/outdoor dining space, expand the capacity of our prep kitchen, and build a beautiful bathroom. We are doing all of this work to create a welcoming space where you, our awesome supporters, will want to ‘stay awhile.’ The final step is finishing our indoor restaurant and community space for vegan events, and we need your help!

Our GoFundMe goal is based on supporting our vision in 3 critical areas:
  • Construction of an indoor dining room and bar.
  • Purchase a new dough mixer to increase capacity and ensure we never sell out.
  • Increase staffing to help create and implement our new expanded menu.

Here at Floralia, you have our word that we will always be 100% plant-based and do everything we can to serve the highest quality food, prepared in-house from locally sourced farm-fresh ingredients.

We believe that the best way we can support the growth of Veganism is by creating a great space to eat vegan food! Hopefully, our food is so good that it can change some minds and influence healthy/sustainable habits. By helping our growth, you can directly affect the development of the local vegan community, which is pretty cool! Additionally, at Floralia, our core mission is to use this business to reduce the harm done to animals so we decided to partner with our friends at Aloha Animal Sanctuary and utilize our reach to support their great work. We will be donating 5% of all proceeds of this Gofundme to Aloha Animal Sanctuary!
