Want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money to benefit THE STATION COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTRE INC. We are a local mental health community centre, based in the old original police station, in the heart of Wallaroo. We are a unique support service working with other groups to help people who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, loneliness or need support to make friends.

We offer a community garden where we grow, share and use produce in our kitchen. Lunches are offered at a small cost when we are open. We have a bus once a week to help people get here and for outings. On Wednesday 9.30am till noon The Station Squidders are on the Wallaroo jetty with tackle and rods for people to join in and promote mental health. There is a library with books, magazines and puzzles. 2 computers with printer and WIFI. We have an Art & craft room for people with creative minds and lessons for those who wish to learn. Chair Yoga is held each Thursday. We have a music room with many different instruments for people to play. There is a counsellor on hand if someone is having a bad day and needs to talk.

In July, due to Government cutbacks, our funding was completely cut off. With the little money we have left we are continuing our service as best we can. We have applied for Grants, so far without success and are getting desperate for support. Our unique service helps keep people from adding to the already strained hospital system and gives people an opportunity to get counselling when they need it. Without us many people will be left with nothing, staying at home with their thoughts spiraling out of control.
