In the early hours of Monday morning, my family experienced a devastating house fire that completely destroyed my mom’s home. My mom, my stepdad Brandon, my uncle Shane, Brad, and Brad’s girlfriend Crissy were all living in the house. By some miracle, they barely made it out alive. The house is a total loss. Our pets were also trapped in the fire. Our kitten, Chester, and our childhood dog, Tommy, were inside the home. We are still searching for our cat Squint, a grey large adult male cat who did make it out, but has not yet been found. We are holding onto hope that he will come home. This tragedy has taken everything. There was no renters insurance. All personal belongings were lost, including clothing, furniture, important documents, and irreplaceable memories. The cars were burned. My brother had worked hard to save thousands of dollars, and that savings was destroyed in the fire. What makes this even harder to process is that this comes just months after my dad’s house burned down—a fire that took his life. Our family is still grieving that loss, and now we are facing another unimaginable disaster. On top of everything, my mom recently underwent heart surgery and is supposed to be focusing on healing, not rebuilding her entire life from nothing. Right now, my family needs help with immediate necessities like temporary housing, clothing, food, transportation, replacing essential items, and medical-related expenses. The road ahead is overwhelming, and we truly don’t know where to begin. We want to thank our community from the bottom of our hearts for the love, support, prayers, and help already shown. Every message, share, and donation means more than words can express. If you are able to help in any way—whether by donating or sharing this fundraiser—we are deeply grateful. Thank you for standing with us during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
