MJ's New Prosthetics: A Growing Need

Help MJ Get His New Prosthetics!……

Hi, my name is Nikita Godbolt, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my son, MJ, to help cover the costs of his replacement prosthetics—costs that insurance won’t fully cover.

Imagine being a vibrant 4-year-old who just wants to sit criss-cross, run, jump, and play like every other kid, but needing prosthetics just to stand.

MJ was born with a bilateral lower leg deformity, which means he was born without fibula bones—the bones that run from the knee to the ankle on both legs. Because of this, both of his feet were permanently turned in the opposite direction. The only way MJ would ever be able to walk was through a double amputation of both lower legs.

With love, prayer, and deep consideration, we made the difficult decision to move forward with the surgery. Today, MJ uses prosthetic legs or a wheelchair to move around. He’s strong, smart, active, and incredibly resilient—but as he grows, his prosthetics need to grow with him.

While insurance covers a portion of the cost, there’s a significant out-of-pocket amount that we’re responsible for. With policies and coverage constantly changing, it’s become necessary to reach out to our community for support—something I do with humility and gratitude.

MJ has a lot of life and growing ahead of him, and I want to make sure he has every opportunity to do that with confidence, comfort, and independence.
