MJ's Ironman 70.3 in Kenting, Taiwan to fund HKME

Hong Kong's top court ruled in favor of a gay activist here last week, finding the government has an obligation to put in place a framework to recognize same-sex partnership.
The court unanimously rejected his argument that the constitutional right to marry applies to same-sex couples.
My husband and I (both Americans) benefited immensely from the ruling that permitted nationwide marriage equality in 2015. In fact, the ruling came out as my brother and I were on a flight from New York to Montreal for my bachelor party. Landing and turning on my phone and seeing the news links is a moment I will never forget. We were married in Provincetown in September of 2015 and are coming up on eight years of marriage.
I want to help my LGBT family in Hong Kong be able to have the right to marry. Currently, my Hong Kong neighbors are denied the freedom to marry the person they love, share the joy with their family and friends and community.
Can you imagine what it would be like if someone told you that you could not marry the person you've decided to share your life with?
On October 29th, I will be competing in my first Ironman 70.3 in Kenting, Taiwan (https://www.ironman.com/im703-kenting). I have decided that I would like to raise funds for Hong Kong Marriage Equality (https://hkme.org.hk/en/).
Please consider donating to this important charity at the forefront of the fight for equality in Hong Kong... when I need that extra focus to keep moving forward on race day, I'll think about love and equality to rally the strength to finish. I have been training hard since March this year to prepare for the event.
Thanks for your consideration
