Dear Family, Friends, and Community,

I am reaching out today to ask for support for a woman who has spent her entire life giving to others — my Auntie, Sherry Crevier.

Auntie Sherry lives with severe knee and hip mobility challenges, chronic pain, and arthritis that make daily life increasingly difficult. She had continuously tried to work, but many jobs are physically difficult and demanding. While many people experience physical hardship, Auntie Sherry’s struggles go far beyond the physical. Her life has been shaped by extraordinary loss, responsibility, and selfless love.

Over the years, Auntie Sherry has endured more grief than most could imagine. She lost her daughter as a toddler, one of her twins as a baby, and later her husband. She opened her heart and home to raise her sister’s daughter, Paige, who was tragically murdered by her “partner” leaving Auntie Sherry to raise Paige’s two young sons, whom she continues to care for and love as her own. She has also raised her brother’s daughter, along with many nieces, nephews, and family members who have come through her home over the years whenever help was needed.

In addition to this, Auntie Sherry has lost her mother to cancer, her father to illness, and several siblings — including a baby brother lost to overdose, whose children she also took in; her sister Shelley, who passed suddenly from a brain clot; her sister Laurie; and others whose absence is deeply felt.

So why do I mention this? Because, despite all of this hurt in life, my Auntie Sherry has never stopped giving. She is the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to help someone she loves AND someone she doesn’t know. She has always put family first, often at the expense of her own needs. This lady has always been one to spare a helping hand in kitchens for funerals, at fundraisers and community gatherings, or whenever she is asked. Yet no matter how much she gives, it feels as though she has never been given the chance to truly rest or catch a break. She never takes and never asks for help, no matter how badly we think she needs it.

This Christmas Day, Auntie Sherry experienced yet another devastating loss. The passing of her oldest son, Mitchell. She is now facing the emotional weight of profound grief while also trying to manage the financial burden of arranging his funeral and survive in everyday life.

I want to do this fundraiser as our way of giving back to a woman who has spent her entire life carrying others. And neglecting her own needs and wants. Any donation, share, or kind word would help ease the financial stress during this incredibly painful time and allow Auntie Sherry the space to grieve without additional hardship. First and foremost funds would go to Mitchell’s Funeral Expenses, food and services. If there is excess raised I’d like to help Sherry so she could use it to repair her vehicle, pay her bills or put food on her table while she grieves and continues to raise kids.
