We were contacted about a tiny kitten found with what appeared to be a crushed leg. When we rushed her to the vet, we learned it wasn’t just a fracture- it was a massive, long-standing abscess. Pus was oozing from the wound, she wasn’t eating, and she was showing signs of severe infection. Because she is so small, she was at high risk of going septic.
She was rushed to the emergency hospital, where doctors determined her leg could not be saved and would need amputation. However, she was too unstable for surgery and had to be hospitalized for two days to fight the infection and stabilize her. Thankfully, she pulled through and became strong enough for surgery. Once the infected leg is amputated, doctors say she has an excellent chance at a happy, pain-free life. This surgery will give her the quality of life and second chance she deserves.
The emergency hospitalization and amputation are very costly, and we urgently need your help. Please consider donating to help save this little fighter we named Misty.
