On July 6, 2022, Todd Rudoll died by suicide, and Misty, Olivia, Kendall, and Morgan’s lives changed forever. Making life work as a single-income household will undoubtedly be a challenge for Misty. So let’s work together to lift some of this burden from her shoulders so she can do what she most needs to do right now – be present for her girls as they work to understand their lives without their beloved partner and dad.
We also ask that our friends and family not ignore the facts about suicide. Suicide is a leading cause of death in the United States – the second leading cause of death for young people – and should be named so we can work together to combat it. If we were talking about cancer, heart failure, or Alzheimer’s, we would just say it. For this reason, and hoping that other families do not need to know this pain, we will not pretend like this did not happen.
If you are struggling and need help, call 988. On July 16, 2022 – just ten days after Todd’s death – the national lifeline number for suicide prevention went live for the first time in United States history. It’s like 911 but for mental health. Tell everyone you know.
We can love Todd and Misty and their beautiful girls by supporting them now with our wallets and by speaking the truth about mental health and suicide prevention.
