Missionary work in Cape Town

Donation protected
Earlier this year I had the privilege of getting involved with an amazing Christian charity called S-Cape in Cape Town, South Africa. S-Cape is a Non-Government Organisation that provides safe accommodation, support, education and opportunities to Women rescued from Trafficking and currently; they are the ONLY safe house in the entire Western Cape. Photo below is from our May 2019 fundraiser.

Globally there are more than 24.9 million people trapped in slavery; being used as force labour, for sexual exploitation, harvesting organs and it goes on. South Africa is on the Tier Two watch list; meaning it is common here and although strides are being taken to combat it - it's still a huge problem. S-Cape and the work they do are one of those strides.

During my 4 months working for S-Cape I planned, resourced and taught English lessons to residence wanting to improve their literacy and English writing skills; lead Bible studies, fitness classes, micro- business workshops (which allowed the residence to create provide such as lip balms and pillows to sell for their own profit - see photo below). I taught the residence how to surf as well as attending knitting classes, horse therapy session and leading craft workshops. Getting the know and spend time with the women was amazing and often because of the hard work S-Cape do with their social workers, house mothers and volunteers you often forget the past they had as they are walking in their new life in freedom.
S-Cape plan on opening a safe house (this year) to take children freed from trafficking bringing them restoration, healing from knowing God, providing an education, new skills, opportunities and knowing the love of God. This will be the ONLY safe house for children in the whole of South Africa.

My plan is to volunteer for two years using my skills as a teacher, my talents and my time to support these children. I am personally donating £6000 which have saved during my 6 months at home, this is going towards buying a car, my visa, flight and other fees and leaves me a small amount to live on. My current situation is I need to raise around £180 for rent per month, £75 for food and other expenses.

By giving one off donations, or even monthly contributions stepping into partnership with me will allow children's lives to be changed. Monthly I will be releasing updates on my blog as to how your support has directly impacted the children, giving me more time with them to share my knowledge, skills and talents to serve them.
