Mission UNstoppable: Fund the Youth Voice

Do you support the youth voice in high level decision making? Youth RISE’s plans for attending global drug policy decision making body in March this year have been affected due to unforeseen circumstances regarding funding out of our control.

Some of the most vital and impactful work that we do is in ensuring that young people who use drugs voices are heard in decision making about our future, and year on year we make progress towards this.

Particularly through our engagement with the global drug policy decision making body of the United Nations, namely the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, or the CND for short.

We have been engaging with the CND for many years, and our impact and our presence in this space has grown with time.

Participating in person at the CND has allowed us to strategize and restrategize our advocacy, build connections with government officials, United Nations representatives, and strengthen our partnerships with like-minded organisations, this has been hugely impactful for the work that we do and in 2023 we saw a huge impact in the year that followed from the engagement we had in person at this space.

We all agree that young people are the future right? I know we also agree that decisions made about us should involve us.
