Silencing Myself to Speak for the Voiceless – Help Me Make a Difference in Uganda

Hi, I'm Alicia, and I’m 12 years old. This September, I’ve been given an incredible opportunity to be part of a Mission 25 trip to Uganda with Excel Church to visit and volunteer with Watoto, a life-changing ministry that cares for over 3,800 orphans and widows.

Watoto creates family-centered villages where children and vulnerable women are loved, nurtured, and empowered. They provide homes, schools, churches, and medical care—restoring hope where it’s been lost.

On this trip, I’ll get to serve hands-on—caring for babies rescued from the streets, helping to refurbish homes and classrooms, and seeing how God is moving through Watoto’s mission. I’m especially passionate about helping with the building project, because I believe every child deserves a safe, clean space to live and learn.

To make this trip possible, I need to raise £2,000:

£1,000 towards my travel and stay

£1,000 to go directly toward refurbishing a Watoto home or classroom ️

But I’m not just asking for donations—I’m also doing a sponsored silence (on 30th May 2025) to raise awareness and funds. For one full day, I’ll stay completely silent to stand in solidarity with the voiceless, those who don't always have the power or platform to speak up for themselves. I want my silence to be their sound. ➡️

This trip isn’t just about going somewhere new—it's about making a real difference. I want to grow in my faith, serve others, and be part of something much bigger than myself. Will you help me get there?
