Mission Rebuild Two Rivers Lodge
On the night of Sunday August 22nd, 2021 Two Rivers Lodge went up in flames to what is known to be arson. It was set on fire and burned completely to the ground because the location is unfortunately just outside of fire service. Sadly, absolutely nothing was able to be done to try to recover anything or help stop the fire.
It was an eerie evening as we all stood around one another and watched our home away from home get destroyed. The building was enraged in flames simultaneously while we all became filled with rage within. A heart aching, sick to your stomach type of feeling. Sadness, anger and worry flowed through our minds as we mostly stood in silence for hours. An entire crew now left unemployed and a person living in the apartment upstairs homeless, everything just gone in an instant! Irreplaceable memorabilia and historical artifacts, an entire shop/garage full of tools, hardware and material that I’m sure they wish they still had when it comes to rebuild. It wasn’t just a place of business, it held just about everything this family run company had accumulated for things like catering, years and years of holiday decor, back up equipment and supplies, and just so much more to even begin to explain. But we were thankful at least everyone got out safe and were there to support each other through such an emotional moment rather than also mourning a loss of life which was a very close call.
The place is now a massive pile of fire damaged debris and is going to take a lot of resources just to get it cleaned up and ready for build. Thankfully there was insurance and they are eager to rebuild but it will not cover everything. There is deductables to be paid and come to find out some equipment, appliances and supplies will unfortunately not be covered. So that is why we are choosing to utilize this fundraising outlet, to help the owners raise funds for the unexpected and uncovered costs. Any help is greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed, we thank you in advance. Many of you have already expressed the want to help and the overwhelming support is heartwarming. So let’s help bring back the heart of Two Rivers and the hope for bigger and better things to come of this. While we know nothing can or will replace what it once was, let’s look forward to the soon-to-be GREATER Two Rivers Lodge!
This community is a force to be reckoned with, we will rise above and we will persevere! The horrendous person that has caused so much unnecessary distraught will not win, we are only being united more because we are Two Rivers Strong!
A note from the owners and crew:
As most of you know we lost our lodge the other evening due to fire. Second home to many, the gathering place of Two Rivers, a historical place built and ran on love and fond memeories we all will never forget! As we all mourn the loss of what most of us feel is the heart of Two Rivers, know that even though majority of everything is gone and the place is in shambles, we plan to rebuild!
We are thankful everyone made it out safe but we are saddened to know how many people this is directly affecting. We are greatly going to miss seeing and chatting with everyone, cooking up and serving delicious hot meals and cold drinks while enjoying the cozy atmosphere that once was.
We appreciate the outpouring of love and support through it all. We truly have some amazing customers who became our family and friends and we cannot wait to be back up and running to see you all again. Until then we will miss you and hope you stay safe and take care.
