Mission Margraten 75 was founded to send up to 10 World War II Long Island Veterans to the Netherlands in May 2020 for the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Dutch liberation from Nazi occupation. To make this trip possible, a fundraising effort called Mission Margraten 75 is being launched on Veterans Day 2019 with a goal of $75,000.

For over 75 years, the Dutch people have tended to the 8300 White Marble Crosses and the Stars of David of our fallen Americans as if  they were their own sons. At least three times a year, Dutch Adoption Families place flowers, flags and photographs on these Grave Sites or on the Wall of the Missing. It is truly an amazing testament to the love and care, our dedicated Dutch friends and families have for their fallen American Liberators.

Our WWII Veterans will attend several Liberation Ceremonies, but their most important day, will be the 22nd of May, when they are the Guests of Honor at a concert at the Hotel Heerlen attended by 900 Dutch Adoption families. There our Veterans will present symbolic pieces of Kershaw Granite to 200 Grave Adoption Families. It is the same Granite used to construct the WWII Memorial in Washington DC. Our WWII Veterans will also attend a Dutch Memorial Day Ceremony at the Netherlands American Military Cemetery in Margraten, Holland.
