Mirah & Della

On  October 14th I went in for what was supposed to be a normal ultrasound and it ended with me finding out my cervix was open and dilated at 2 centimeters, I then found out that my cervix not only was open but Mirah (baby A's) water bag was bulging through my cervix. Des Moines told me at this point it was a waiting game and they suspected I would go into Labor soon after and lose both my girls. Once I made it to 22 weeks I got into Iowa City and went straight down there, they suspected they could put a cerclage in, but upon an ultrasound we found out my water had broke. I was then sent to Labor and Delivery and monitored closely. 

Leading up to having the girls I had been in labor 3 days prior before having them, I had constant  contractions and unmanageable pain. The girls where born October 25th, 2021. I had Mirah Lynn via vaginally at 1:28pm, following her sister Della Renae was born via emergency C-section at 2:16pm. Both girls weighed 1 pound and 3oz's. They both have a long road ahead of them, they're already facing some issues and we're fighting through them. 

I live two hours away from the girls, as they are staying in Iowa City and will be in the NICU for quite some time. I'm a 19 year old who went to college full time prior to having the girls and worked two part time jobs. I didn't have much saved up, as I didn't expect something like this to occur and I can't work for a little while due to my infections I had, and for being that my daughters need a parent around during these times.
