Minou was adopted in 2013 at the age of 11 months. His “brother” Eli had been adopted a few weeks earlier. Eli died from a tumour a little over six months ago. Minou was diagnosed with suspected osteoarthritis a month or so later when brought in for an exam ahead of adopting another friend for him.
He’d been receiving Solensia injections for a few months, but the cost (close to $200/mo for the shots plus taxis to get there and back) became unaffordable.
Around 5-6 days ago, Minou stopped eating his favourite crunchy treats. I then noticed he wasn’t eating a lot of kibble. (He’s never been into canned food.) I tried offering him more lickable treats, then warm watered down canned food. Over the past 3-4 days he’s been voluntarily eating less and less and has lost a lot of weight and energy and yesterday I began syringe-feeding him, but it’s not enough.
Every cent will go towards helping Minou’s current situation and anything else will go towards his osteoarthritis treatment moving forward.
I have EFT or PayPal options and can also provide info for the clinic if anyone would prefer to donate directly to Minou’s account there.
