My heart ached when one of our kindest and amazing janitors came to me to tell me that his brother was abducted by ICE this week. Carlos' brother, who we are leaving nameless for safety, came to the country legally. His visa recently expired, and as he was on his way to a doctor appointment, he was detained.
Carlos continues to advocate for his brother and his brother's children. The family needs funds for legal resources, filing paperwork, taking care of the children, and maintaining the bills that the brother still owes.
Please help support Carlos and his brother during this dark time. Our school absolutely loves Carlos.
Important information:
Carlos is taking care of his brothers children. Due to tech, Carlos's niece Jennifer is marked as the beneficiary for this GoFundMe. Rest assured, all donations will go straight to Carlos and for his brother, nieces, and nephews.
Carlos will be using the funds to purchase essential living furniture for children, food, and other necessities for the children. In addition, Carlos had to find a new lawyer for his brother. The donations will also go toward the fees associated with his lawyer.
The organizer of this GoFundMe is Amelia, a coworker of Carlos at the school in Minneapolis which we are not naming as a means to keep everyone safe during this time where ICE is targeting anyone of Latino descent regardless of citizenship status in Minneapolis.
