Local St Norbert’s Church Parishioners doing a ‘Mini-Triathlon” to help raise FundsOn Monday 14 June 2021 at around 9:30 in the morning Aga Smith and Kinga Rupniewska will set off from St Norbert’s Church biking around the residential streets of Spalding. They will also be running in wetsuits by the River Welland around 11:30 from the Spalding Water Taxi Jetty alongside the river bank towards the Spalding Applegreen services to then take a plunge in the Welland River and swim back to the Spalding Water Taxi Jetty and…..to finish the event off they will Paddleboard to the town centre!
Watch out for them on the day, they will be hard to miss as they will have white T shirts bearing the St Thomas Project Logo and the names of the sponsors.
The water safety of the event will be ensured by Spalding Water Taxis. Aga and Kinga would like to thank – Bakkavor - especially Carl Upex, Anthony Grunwell from the Spalding Water Taxi, David Crust from DC Signs and Nathan Mayfield from AJS Control and Automation for supporting this venture.
The two ladies are doing this to bring awareness to the St Thomas Project in the local community and also to help raise funds for sustaining it. This project is being set up by St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Spalding to support all parts of the community. Its aim is to offer facilities to enhance the lives of the disadvantaged along with providing the space for a much-needed nursery. It is a ‘not for profit’ organisation that will enable space from the former St. Thomas Methodist Church for a community café to be used as a ’drop in/safe haven’ center, regardless of faith of denomination, to use to make their lives more comfortable and social.
We would be grateful if you could sponsor this great cause! Please see our Go Fund Me details below
