I'm participating for the first time in a Mini Triathlon with my two favorite doctors (my 21 year old son and 85 year old mom in law) to raise money to benefit 2 causes:
- Help pay for any girl under 14 who will participate in this Mini Triathlon. By age 14, 7 boys for only every 1 girl play organized sports and we want to encourage sporting organizations to find ways to focus on girl needs also, not just "boyz";
- Contribute to a McGill University Medical Innovation Fund to support young doctors who want to innovate and help make tomorrow's service way better than today's!
My son will run (despite his busy study schedule), my 85 year old mom in law will swim, and I will handle the bike leg. Our objective: finish the race and support girls in sports and innovate.
My wife and daughter, very sporty themselves, will also be participating as volunteers.
