Hello, my name is Nahema. I am Min Naing’s middle daughter. I am asking for help on behalf of my father and the rest of the family.
As many may know my father has been in the hospital numerous amount of times in the hospital this year. Some occasions were minor and other occasions were critical. However, since September my father health has turned critical and today it has gotten even worse.
On September 7th my father who was living in Fort Wayne Indiana had a hemorrhagic stroke, with an active brain bleed. I received a call right before going to work from the hospital my father was at (previously for a separate reason of ptsd and hallucination) from a neurosurgeon asking me to make a medical decision for my father because of his stroke. When I arrived to Indiana, my father was in a critical condition in the Neuro-ICU. I was told my father had lost mobility on his entire right side of his body. He was losing vision on his right eye as well. Since then he has been in the hospital trying to recover. He had multiply infections and falls while trying to regain and work on physical therapy.
My father neuro team had informed me that my father has plaque build up in his main vessel in the back of his brain, at the moment he is on blood thinners to help prevent any more build up. Doing a surgery would help remove and improve blood flow for my father however, it would only put my father life more in danger and would be very life threatening.
My father is a very determined man who is trying to work with every doctor to get his life back to normal, however, with not much mobility in his right side he would often times become very frustrated. I came back to oakland when my father had showed some sort of improvement because I was advised to come back and apply for his medical and find long term skilled nursing facilities that would help my father with occupational rehabilitation. My father is currently at the Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with no health insurance. The hospital is trying to help me as much as they can however trying to get my father back to Oakland, CA is very difficult as he can not fly at the moment and can not be on car rides.
This morning I receive a called from my father neurosurgeon asking me to make another medical decision because my father had another stroke and needs another surgery, I was informed the his survival chance is 10%. With one stroke after another and along with one heart attack after another, I am not sure how much more my father body can handle. I am currently in Oakland, Ca and my father is in Fort Wayne Indiana. He does not have any one by his side right now and our extended families have refused to go see him.
I am a 23 year old, who is trying to take care of my disabled mother with 3 niece and nephew, along with my two younger siblings while trying to work and pay for every thing around the house to make sure everyone is safe. Even though my father is in another state he depends on me and needs me. In the hope that my father can recover soon again, I would love to get him back to California as I have found a long term skilled nursing facility that would take my father in. I am working my best to work with social workers to get my father medicare and medical however that is taking some time.
I am asking for financial help for my father and my family to get my father medical are and recovery that he needs. It is important for my father to work to somewhat regain his right side mobility so he can feel as normal as he can. I am hoping that we can avoid any other health problems that can/may occur by providing him all the care he needs. My father wish is for him to be back in California to be closer to my younger siblings and I. I am working to provide that best that I can for my disable mother along with five young kids, and need and want to do the same for my father. I want to thank you all in advance for your support, prayer and love and encouragement in our family difficult time.
Sincerely,
Nahema
