Hello - My name is Mariabella and I run the very small, local Non Profit Millions Of Butterflies, Inc. Three people run this organization, myself included and while we are a powerhouse - creating and operating the New Paltz Free Food Fridge , running the Chrysalis Kitchen (formerly known as New Paltz Food Not Bombs), creating and distributing 100 Back 2 School Care Packages as well as supporting our local community in their individual times of need - we are finding ourselves to be the ones in need of support.

When we first started in the middle of 2020, we didn't have all these necessities to budget for and in the middle of a pandemic with nothing to do - it was easy to find the time to fundraise.

Now in 2022, we have daily, weekly and monthly necessary expenses to keep what we manage running at its best capacity. With very little time between all of us working multiple jobs outside of Millions Of Butterflies to pay rent and have food to eat for ourselves, it has been hard to find the time to fundraise properly.

What makes matters worse is a week ago we were supposed to have one of our Charity Bake Sales, but our main Bake Sale manager discovered just how allergic they are to poison ivy and there was nobody to cover. This means we lost a vital opportunity to raise the money we need.

Obviously, some of these things could be solved with a larger team and while we are working hard to involve more people in our operation - it is hard to hire folks without the promise of financial compensation.

We have a lot of plans for the future - other than keeping the New Paltz Free Food Fridge and Chrysalis Kitchen up and running; we are working on creating 100 more Back 2 School Care Packages, a publication focused on local artists, creatives and resources as well as an event to bring more of our community together. All of these things cost money - and with the way things are going, our bank account will run empty very soon. As a newer organization, we can use all the help we can get. We need your help to raise the money we need to do the things that need doing.
