Running Miles for Sheppey FM!

This November, I’ll be taking on the Santa Cruz Half Marathon in Tenerife to raise money for Sheppey FM and, in particular, to give something back to a station that has given my son Jack so much.

Jack has been part of Sheppey FM’s Youth Show for the past five years, and the experience, confidence and opportunities he has gained have been amazing.

Every Saturday, Sheppey FM gives young people aged 8–18 the chance to get involved in real community radio, learning everything from presenting and journalism to production, interviewing, photography, podcasts and reporting.

They can also work towards accredited qualifications and Arts Awards, as well as gaining experience towards DofE and work placements.

I've seen first-hand just how valuable opportunities like this can be for young people, so I wanted to do something to help the station continue giving the next generation the same chances Jack has had.

So on Sunday 15 November 2026, I’ll be attempting the 21.1km Half Marathon — considerably further than my usual 5K!

Any donation, however big or small, would mean a huge amount and will help Sheppey FM continue supporting young people and our local community.
