Miles for Nepal – Running for Hope and Rebuilding
Hi, my name is Samrajya (Sam). I’m a doctorate student in the U.S., originally from Nepal.
Over the past three years, my endurance journey has taken me from running half marathons, to full marathons, to the toughest marathon in North America — Leadville, and ultimately to becoming a full Ironman.
Each year, I’ve challenged myself to push boundaries and redefine what’s possible — because I’m passionate about testing limits through endurance.
But this time, I want that passion to fuel something greater — not just miles, but meaning.
I want to use endurance not only to strengthen myself, but to serve others — to give back, and to stand for something beyond a finish line.
On October 19, I’ll be running the Des Moines Marathon for the third time.
But this time, I’m not only chasing a personal record — I’m running for Nepal.
In recent months, Nepal has faced immense heartbreak — from the Gen Z Revolution to devastating floods that have displaced countless families.
Every step I take will remind me why I’m running — for the resilience, hope, and spirit of the people of Nepal.
I’ll give my 100% in every mile, not just to test my endurance, but to help rebuild what’s been lost.
Any amount you choose to donate — $10, $50, $100, or more — will go directly to organizations in Nepal that are actively helping victims and rebuilding communities.
Together, let’s turn endurance into empathy.
Let’s run — for Nepal. Let's run -- for the lives lost. Let's run -- for those who suffer.
For a moment, let's suffer together. Because after the storm, there will be a calm, For us.
