Mila Grace - Raising Funds for St Helier
Donation protected
Back in March, our beautiful little Mila was born in St Helier Hospital, Carshalton, a month premature but instantly a fighter.
She was in the care of the fantastic NeoNatal Team at St Helier who provided around the clock care to not only Mila but several other babies all at one time. The care and dedication they give everyday really is second to none. Fortunately, after 10 days and with the help of the amazing team there, Mila was able to come home with us.
The medical equipment that this unit requires can come at a huge expense with an incubator costing around £1,000 which is crucial and can be the difference between a baby surviving their first few moments and not surviving. The funds will also go to purchasing clothing and bedding for babies that are born prematurely which also comes at a significant expense which can make these precious little beings as comfortable and warm as they can be to enjoy their first few moments on this earth.
Unfortunately, our beautiful Mila, as fast as she arrived, she was taken from us way too soon and on the 28th April, a little over a month after she was born, Mila passed away in her sleep.
Which leads us on to the other charity we’d like to donate funds towards. The Lullaby Trust is a SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) charity, whom provide support and awareness to parents regarding safer sleep for babies which is one of the highest causes of sudden and unexplained infant deaths.
The Lullaby Trust can only operate with donations and assistance provided by the public and the trust does amazing work with hospitals to assist and advise parents on safer sleep for babies and also provide expert support for bereaved families like ours that lose the most precious thing life can give.
Any help to be able to provide funding to these wonderful causes would be massively appreciated by not only our family but others and the hospital staff at the unit. We’d also like our beautiful little girl Mila to leave a legacy and as big of a footprint in other lives just as she did ours.
