Mike MacDonald (Big Mike)

My name is Ceildh MacDonald and I’ve started this fundraiser to help my dad with a long road to recovery. Most of you know Mike as a loving friend, cousin, brother, but I know him as the most amazing, loving and caring father in the world. On Sunday he got some news that is going to change his life forever. Early Sunday morning my dad went to the Trenton hospital as he knew something was off about his right foot, it was numb, bleeding and swollen. He was in an excruciating amount of pain from his foot all the way up his right leg. After waiting 8 long hours in emerge without getting his dressing changed he finally got into a room. Doctors and nurses came in and out of the room to look at his foot so see what his options were. They knew he was gonna need surgery, so I had to drive him to picton as they had a room available, then they told him that he had also tested positive for Covid. He stayed 2 days in picton before getting transferred to Belleville where they could do more tests. He and the doctor went over his options and what he thinks would work best for him. It was a hard decision that had to be made but it had the best outcome. He is currently in surgery to get from bellow his right knee on amputated. This has been very hard for us and extremely hard for him. He or I will update everyone once he’s out of surgery. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. I’ve created this go fund me to give him a light at the end of a very long tunnel and to take as much off his plate as possible. Anything can and will help. We all love Mike and he has always been there for everyone and he’s always willing to drop everything to help someone in need, I’m hoping everyone else will return the favour as he is the last person that deserves any of this.
