Mike Gilbert Memorial Bench at Pacific Raceways – Turn 8
Donativo protegido
We are raising funds to honor the memory of Mike Gilbert, a beloved figure in the Pacific Northwest racing community, he was two-time SCCA National Champion in Formula C, a Pat Pigott Award recipient, NW Region SCCA driver of the year and had many more racing accolades. He was a dedicated instructor at ProFormance Racing School for over 20 years.
Mike spent decades racing, mentoring, and supporting others at Pacific Raceways. But more than anything, Turn 8 held a special place in his heart, it’s where he proudly stood to watch his daughter, Cheryl, carry on the Gilbert family racing legacy.
To commemorate Mike’s life and his lasting impact on the racing world, we are hoping to raise at least $3,000 to install a memorial bench at Turn 8, where family, friends, and fellow racers can reflect and remember a man who lived and breathed motorsports.
If there are any funds raised above the $3,000 goal, that will go towards the restoration of Mike’s fabled Lotus 41, which Cheryl will bring back to life and race in his honor, a deeply meaningful, though no small, task.
If Mike ever gave you advice in the paddock, cheered you on trackside, or shared a story that stuck with you (and we know there are many of you who heard them!), please consider contributing. Your support will help us preserve his memory at the track he loved and keep his spirit alive through the next generation.
With heartfelt thanks,
The Gilbert Family
