Hi! My name is Tina Smith and this page has been created for my sister Bobbie Dancy and her husband Mike Dancy. In January 2020, Bobbie was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. After undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, she is currently in remission but has been left with debilitating neuropathy in both her feet and hands which has left her unable to walk without assistance. She has not been able to drive or live independently since which left Mike to become her full-time caregiver. For a while, Bobbie was able to maintain her job as an accounting controller by working strictly from home but in July 2022, she was fired from her job because the doctors would not release her to go back to work at the company's office completely. This took away both her income (Bobbie being the primary breadwinner) but also both of their insurance. Then if life couldn't get any harder, in November 2022, Mike himself became tragically ill! After being admitted to the hospital on Thanksgiving Day, he was diagnosed with an advanced stage of liver cancer. Mike remains in the ICU fighting for his life still today!

Currently, Bobbie is limited in her ability to be at the hospital with Mike due to her inability to drive. She is dependent on her family to transport her from her home in Vale, NC to Atrium Health Cabbarus in Concord, NC. Between travel expenses, lack of medical insurance, and very little income, they are in desperate need of funds to not only survive day-to-day living but to cover medications Bobbie still needs for her aftercare, upkeep and repairs needed at home, transportation costs, and astronomical medical bills to just name a few.
