Migrant support services in Logan Square
Donation protected
Hi friends,
Over the past few weeks, Palenque LSNA, New Hope Bible Church & Trash People of Logan Square have been partnering to set up servicing to support our recently arrived new migrant neighbors here in Logan Square.
These individuals are mostly sleeping at the police station, where they do not have access to basic necessities such as showers, a washing machine, or even simply a quiet space.
Our support services at New Hope Church allow our new neighbors to take a breather from the stressful environment of the police station, shower, wash their clothes and pick up any supplies they may need.
While we are prioritizing collecting necessary supplies from local collection points, there are some items that we have learnt we go through incredibly quickly, and need to purchase direct in order to keep up with needs. These include water, basic foods, shower gel, and cleaning supplies.
We are grateful for your donations to allow us to purchase items needed by those using this service - all funds raised will go towards purchasing necessities for our new neighbors here in Logan Square.
If for any reason any funds are left over, any remaining donations will be reallocated to Palenque LSNA for their work improving food security for Black & Latine families in the Logan Square, Avondale & Hermosa neighborhoods.
THANK YOU for your contributions, we are grateful for your support!
