Phase 2: Appeal the Reversal

On November 8, a Lake County judge reversed the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA’s) decision in the Midlothian Manor case.

This decision, if not contested, gives the Lake County Housing Authority (LCHA) the ability to apply for the occupancy permit and use the building in a way that we believe is in direct conflict with zoning laws, which by the nature and purpose of having these laws, will place the proposed residents as well as nearby residents, schools, business owners and town at risk.

To prevent the misuse of Midlothian Manor, the appeal process has been initiated with both the county and the state. The appeal process will cost approximately $50,000 and represents the only chance to stop the misuse of the property.
