Thank you residents of Middle Sound for all of your efforts and donations. Yes! We won & that's a great feeling, however, please be aware that this effort was underway right up until the County Commissioners meeting began on July 13th, which is why the GoFundMe goal has increased. The current total is our final total.
If everyone who is in the Facebook Group could manage to give just $10 each, we'd be done!
The bulk of the outstanding balance is for the traffic engineer and attorney fees.
Raleigh-based Larry Green was our traffic expert. His traffic pattern studies and accompanying visual aides were instrumental in conveying our concerns.
When it came to legal counsel, we knew we could not afford to lose, which is why we chose Steve Coggins of Rountree Losee. Steve did exhaustive research and spent time in our community in order to fully understand our concerns and the issues that R5 rezoning would cause. When the time came, he delivered a solid presentation that served us well and we should all be grateful for that.

7/19 UPDATE: The goal on gofundme has changed to $16, 168.35.
Per Stephan Andree our finance director:
We have spent $21,151
Go fund me has raised $11,836
Other fundraising has produced $5,183
So we need to close a gap of $4,132.
