Mick Simpson is walking from Kyabram to Parliament House, Melbourne to reduce the stigma around living with dementia and raise vital funds to find a cure.

Mick Simpson's advocacy for dementia started with his own diagnosis in 2018. Mick has started a dementia support group and dementia alliance in the Goulburn Valley to support the growing number of people being diagnosed with dementia that are trying to navigate community with this 'new normal'.

In 2022 Mick was honoured to receive both Senior of the Year honors and Campaspe citizen of the year honors to mark the work he has been undertaking to support people within our community living with this disease, live productive, connected and positive lives.

Mick's goal is to raise $20,000 to continue to drive research into dementia and enable more programs and supports to be available within the Goulburn Valley for people living with dementia and their carers.
