Hi, I’m Michael Smith.

I’ll be walking 90 miles over 4 days in the Lake District—a rugged and beautiful challenge—to raise £1,000 for Unrebel, the Oxford-based supported housing charity that has profoundly changed my life.

Unrebel provides a safe home and real support to people rebuilding their lives after prison, addiction, or homelessness in Oxfordshire

After my brother passed away, they stepped in—offering not just a roof over my head, but a warm community I could lean on during that dark time.

Every month, Unrebel holds community circles where residents and staff connect, share stories, build trust, and do uplifting activities together. This sense of belonging—something I felt deeply needed—was a lifeline when I needed it most.

Now, I want to give back. The £1,000 I hope to raise will go toward funding a special group activity—a day out or workshop—to bring joy, connection, and positive energy to everyone in our Unrebel community.
