Hello my name is Simone. I am setting up this gofund me page to support my sister who will need financial assistance while her husband Michael is in hospital.

Michael, was taken to hospital very suddenly on Saturday 29th September with Dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs) in his brain.

dAVFs are abnormal connections between an artery and a vein in the tough covering over the brain or spinal cord (dura mater). In this rare condition, abnormal passageways between arteries and veins (arteriovenous fistulas) may occur in the brain, spinal cord or other areas of your body.

Although Michael is off sedation he is yet to show signs of improvement and it is expected to be a long road.

This experience has been horribly traumatic for his wife Diana and their 7 year old daughter Adelaide.

The hospital and specialists have been terrific. Very supportive and Diana and Adelaide are staying positive for Michael’s recovery.

The road ahead is long and hard with significant impact on their small farm, business, income and wellbeing.

Diana is currently on contract but unable to return to work at full capacity given the current circumstance, living 45 mins from the hospital, managing a property on her own and now being the sole carer for her daughter.

The family are currently suffering hardship on top of concern for Michael so I reach out to seek your assistance in aiding Diana and Adelaide with the cost of their mortgage, living expenses, utilities, and other bills during this incredibly difficult time.
