Donation protected
On August 24, 2022, in San Diego, CA, Michael Christopher Mallon departed this earth at the young age of 36.

Mike's entire family has been overwhelmed with unwavering love and support as they mourn the loss of an irreplaceable soul. While Aneta and her two young sons begin a new chapter without him, any funds donated will be used to ease the impending financial burdens of everyday life and potential future college expenses for Francis. Please feel free to share this message with anyone you think may be interested in contributing. God bless.

Mike was born July 9, 1986, in Mount Kisco, NY. He is survived by his fiancé and best friend, Aneta Witoslaw, precious son Francis Michael, step-son Alan Wilenski, his loving parents Michael and Deborah Mallon, sister Brittany (Ryan) Doughan, brothers Christopher (Michelle) Mallon and Ryan (Lauren Smith) Mallon, nephew Rory Doughan, Grandmother Pauline Mallon, a massive extended family of his beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and his loving circle of friends. Mike is predeceased by his grandparents, James and Gloria Grimes, and Francis Mallon.

Mike was a proud graduate of New Fairfield High School (2005) and Norwich University (class of 2009) and served as a Captain in the US Army Active Reserve. Mike and his military unit provided protective service to the US Army Medical teams in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010.

Mike's distinction in life was his unconditional love for his beautiful partner Aneta and his sons. The greatest joy of Mike's life was his precious Francis. It was love at first sight. They were inseparable. His heart overflowed with love and happiness with every moment spent together. Their deep bond was formed in only three short years, never to be broken. There aren’t enough words to describe their loving bond as a family.

Mike was employed by MSA Security's canine bomb detection unit in NYC. During his 10+ year employment, Mike covered many major NYC posts, including the United Nations and 26 Federal Plaza. Most recently, Mike protected the Staten Island Ferry with his faithful EOD canine always at his side. Highlights included protective coverage during the UN General Assembly and safe passage of 30,000+ NYC Marathon runners aboard the SI Ferry to the start of the Marathon each year. It was a dream job, as he loved every canine assignment, especially with his service dog, Magar, his partner and buddy.

Mike actively participated in many sports, including soccer, youth football, lacrosse and rugby. While not mastering any of them, he was “the guy” you wanted on your team. A loyal teammate and the best morale booster ever.

Mike was a volunteer man, always willing to help. If only to lend a hand or in a crisis. He would do anything for anyone, at any time, anywhere. Whether in a home, community, church or his country, Mike served God, family, friends and country with honor and pride.

Mike was one of a kind. He touched the lives of everyone he met and always left a lasting impression. His eyes sparkled. His smile would light up a room. His laughter was contagious. His heart was enormous, caring, compassionate, kind, generous, and sensitive. If love could have saved him, Mike would have lived forever! “Love Is Eternal.”
