Michaella's Service Trip:Costa Rica

My name is Michaella DeSantis, I am 15 years old and will be going on a service trip to Costa Rica for 2 weeks in July. Depending on what the school needs my group might be running a summer camp, refurbishing school buildings, playgrounds, or community centers. I will also be volunteering at an after school program helping to empower young girls as well as improving their education. This is important to me because I strongly believe in the impact of this program and hope to work with children in the future.  Aside from the community service, our group will go on excursions to explore Costa Rica as well as get to know the locals. I am looking forward to leaving my country to immerse myself in a brand new culture in hopes of expanding my perspective of the world.
