Dear friends and family,
As many of you know, my brother Michael Marroquin has been battling kidney failure for the past 6–7 years and has been on dialysis throughout this time. Recently, he received the life-changing news that he had been approved for a kidney transplant. We were filled with hope—but just before the scheduled procedure, his cardiologist was unable to clear him for surgery due to a serious issue with his heart.
Michael was diagnosed with a condition where the pericardium (the lining around the heart) was restricting his heart’s ability to function properly. On Friday, June 27, he underwent open-heart surgery, and we’re relieved and grateful to report that everything went well. He is now recovering and remains in good spirits.
Unfortunately, this means Michael will be out of work for several weeks, and we want to help relieve him of the stress of worrying about how to keep up with everyday bills while he focuses on healing. We ask, first and foremost, that you please keep him in your prayers as he recovers and prepares for the next step in his health journey.
If you are able, we also invite you to support him financially during this critical time—any amount helps, and all funds will go directly to covering his living expenses while he is out of work.
Let’s come together as a community and help Michael rest, heal, and continue forward with strength toward his kidney transplant.
With gratitude,
