Medical Mission Trip To Rural Uganda

Donation protected
Hello everyone! Thank you for taking a moment to read my story and become a part of my journey.

It has always been my goal to be able to give back to those in need. Fortunately, I was recently accepted to participate in a Nursing Internship put on by the organization Global Heath Perspectives that will take me to Bududa, Uganda to do just that.

For two weeks in September, I will travel with 11 other Nursing students from my program to bring supplies and medical assistance to Project Bududa, a clinic and community health center in eastern Uganda. To get there I need your help, but let me tell you a little bit about the community that we will be helping while we are there.

Project Bududa:
We will be working along side the Foundation for International Medical Relief for Children (FIMRC) at a rural clinic established in an impoverished region of eastern Uganda. Due to a lack of medical resources and diminished access to health care, the clinic reaches out to more than 40,000 people living in the area, making community health calls to 14 different villages. While we are there we will have the chance to be a part of many different clinical services offered by the organization, including:
    -  Primary care services for patients of all ages
    -  Maternal Care
    -  HIV testing and counseling
    -  Malaria testing
    -  Antenatal clinic
    -  Support groups for Orphans & Vulnerable Children
    -  Community Health Education & Outreach

This trip will be a remarkable learning experience as a Nursing student, but more than that, it will give me the chance to be a part of an organization that truly makes a difference in the world.

If you would like to learn more about FIMRC, or Project Bududa, please visit their website at www.fimrc.org/uganda

So what can you do to help?
This trip entails numerous expenses, some of which will facilitate my travel to the country, but a great amount also goes toward the collection of medical supplies and to the organization, FIMRC, who helps to create and continue the operation of these clinics and medical facilities in impoverished areas around the world.

As a college student, my income is currently limited, but I am doing my best to save for this trip and to find alternative funding through grants and scholarships. Unfortunately, it is going to take more than that for me to reach the necessary amount to make this opportunity happen. Help me to give back and to pay it forward to this community in need.

I appreciate your time and your generosity; it will all go toward improving the medical attention and quality of life of someone less fortunate.
