Thank you for visiting my page and sponsoring me with our tandem cycle ride!
I would like to raise money for the Neonatal units at both Singleton hospital in Swansea and University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. At the end of May 2018, my daughter Miah was born unexpectedly at 29 weeks and spent 52 days in these special baby care units. She was born at 2lbs 13oz and extremely ill with sepsis ecoli and bacterial meningitis. Without the care that she received she wouldn’t be here today. We never knew these departments existed before she came along and most of the world still doesn't. We feel extremely lucky to have had the incredible care from wonderful doctors and nurses to attend to all of Miah's needs and they supported both Simon and I everyday as we waiting for Miah to grow and get better.
Just before Miah's first birthday, I would like to embark on a 52 mile journey to represent everyday of care received to raise awareness in pre-term babies and to raise funds that can go towards new tools and equipment to help save other babies in need. To make it more challenging, other than being a new unfit mum, this will be on a tandem bike with my fantastic friend, something we've never tried before, so it could be interesting!
The journey will commence on Saturday 25th May 2019 at Singleton Park (approx 9am) and finish at Pontcanna Fields in Cardiff (approx 3pm). If you are free and would like to come along to support us, or indeed join us, we would love to see you there! There will be celebrations at the end too so feel free to come and join the fun!
