Mia was a dear friend of my family and many others. After years of chronic illness that stacked on top of each other—diabetes, gastroparesis, leukemia, blindness and more—Mia Rosalie Geheren passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, surrounded by family. From the age of 12, Mia dealt with life-altering illnesses yet never seemed to ever think about herself. Most important: her four boys and loving husband, Bill.
Michael was an accident and surprise, and while thrilled to have a child, there was zero chance he would be an only child. She and her husband Bill adopted three children with special needs, including their beloved Charlie who passed away at the age of 13.
Mia was an incredible mother to four children—Michael, Tommy, Charlie and Danny. If she could have had double or triple the number of kids, she would. Despite a nearly lifelong cascade of severe medical issues, she never seemed to think about herself. Her husband, Bill, relied so much on her as she was the matriarch of the family. It was a beautiful love shared between them and they celebrated 29 years of marriage this March.
As a human, she has more strength and positivity than most people. She was a fighter, an ultimate warrior. She had more than any right to be angry yet she wasn’t. Ever. She chose to be positive. To be loving. To care for others. She had so much strength and never complained or was selfish. She showed me what it was to love unconditionally and taught me about faith. Mia believed in God as I do and I know she is at peace now.
I ask if you could please help this family with their abundance of medical bills, funeral arrangements, etc it would be such a blessing for this beautiful family. Thank you for your consideration.
