We have created this page because our ‘Ohana really needs your help.  On Thursday, February 14th, 2019, the bodies of Tia and Mikey were found on the shores of Kauai. With so many unanswered questions & the sudden loss of their loved ones, both families are in grieving.

Aside from all that is happening, the main concern right now is the care for their two beautiful young children, Mia and Milo,  that were left behind without parents (pictured). Even though many of us are hurting from this loss, it is nothing compared to the effects it has on these children from losing their mommy and daddy.

Mia is a beautiful sweet little 4 year old girl that loves to go to the beach. She is such a helpful & protective big sister to her 8 month old baby brother, Milo. Milo is a healthy, chunky baby full of smiles and giggles, especially after being fed or a really long nap.

Many have reached out to our ‘Ohana wondering how it is that they can help. We are asking if you can find it in your hearts to donate whatever you can to assist these children. 100% of all donations received will be going directly to helping raise Mia and Milo. Anything and everything will be very much appreciated. It will take all of us coming together to care for and raise them how their parents would have wanted.

“It takes a village to raise a child.” -African Proverb

Mahalo for your love and support.

Update : Tias Brother Brent will be taking guardianship over the kids but it will be a joint effort between all family members to raise these children.
The monies raised will be used in many various ways including food, diapers, education , clothes and various baby needs.
As they get older we have to think about more educational related costs, sports, hobbies, and medical expenses.
They are also trying to set up a trust right now so a lot of the money can go in there for the kids future.

Aloha all! Hereʻs an update on nā keiki! Mia Mailani had a hula performance for Lā Lei (May Day) at Pūnana Leo Preschool. She represented the island of Molokaʻi adorned with the leaves of the kukui nut tree. It was a joy to watch her share what she has learned of her Hawaiian culture. Milo Pihanakalani came to watch his big sister and is patiently waiting his turn to be accepted at this preschool. It was such a beautiful day of sunshine and great food, a nice step forward in happier times. Their cousins aka new brother and sister were also present to watch and have lovingly accepted Mia and Milo as their brother and sister, and they all call each other by this title now. Stay tuned as I continue to update on their progress. Mahalo for all your love. xo

Aloha Friends and ʻOhana of Mia & Milo. As their Tūtū (grandmother) I wanted to thank everyone again for their donations, love and support. It has truly touched our hearts that so many people care about these two keiki and their future, especially at a time of grieving. It has brought comfort to us and given us focus on something positive.

Hereʻs an update on the Keiki. Milo is thriving nicely and has 3 new teeth on top and is standing and walking a bit, assisted. All since his parents passing. They would be so proud of him.

Mia is also adjusting. She still has some bad days crying for her parents, so we cry with her. We keep her busy with swimming, hula and basketball. We recently had her Mommies Celebration of Life and I was blessed with a question from Mia "Whatʻs inside there?" as she pointed to her mommies urn. With the deepest love in my heart and holding back tears, I told her that we keep our familyʻs close to us by keeping their ʻUhane (spirit) in there. I told her that mommy will always be with us and she can visit her here whenever she wants. She asked no more questions and only pondered what I had told her.

As Mia and Milo ask more questions we will be here to answer them all with love and kindness. Mahalo xo

Update: Weʻve had a few days with Mia where weʻve cried together and missed Mommy and Daddy but other than that sheʻs happy living with her cousins and we keep her busy with Hawaiian school and dancing hula and sheʻll be starting swim soon. We also bought her a bike which she loves! We want to say Mahalo to Firefighter Uncle Alan Satta and his fiancé Aunty Kayli Obrero for creating this Fundraiser to create a positive future for Mia and Milo. We brought them to the fire station for a visit which they loved.
