On January 15, Saturday, the Pacific island nation of Tonga, which is home to about 107,000 people, was declared under a state of calamity after a volcano beneath the sea off the coasts of Tonga erupted, sending an ash cloud 20 kilometers into the sky, covering the country with ashes and smoke and triggered a tsunami, which flooded parts of the archipelago.

Needless to say, the Tongan people are now in need of our help. With this, YCLC and PCLC initiated a recent campaign. We will be working with our connections in Tonga to provide assistance to identify the affected communities.

Our goal is to seek financial support to the people of Tonga whose homes have been flooded and are in need of emergency shelter, food, safe drinking water, toilets and other basic essentials. We will be allocating all the funds that could be raised through GoFundMe in sending the immediate needs of the community. Let's all put our hearts and spirit together and rebuild the nation of Tonga.
