#MHM Dublin marathon

Hi folks as many of you probably know I've been hard at it training this months preparing to run my 1st ever marathon, this year's Dublin marathon on the 27th Oct.

I'll be running the marathon alongside my amazing dad and 2 sisters, aswel as my amazing #RFE crew (Run for enda) who without them this wouldn't be possible.

It's fair to say this past couple off years for me personally has been very tough and my own mental health has suffered. From a serious knee injury which put a stop to my sporting hobbies, 6 weeks spent in rehabilitation for alcohol problems and trying to juggle 3 young kids under the age off 3 my mental wellbeing and health was at the very lowest it could be and dangerously so. Thanks to my amazing wife, my family and to two amazing organisations which are now a massive part off my recovery #RFE- the run for enda foundation and #MHM - mens healthy minds group I can finally say I've turned a corner. Come the weekend off the marathon I'll be 11months sober- something I never imagined I'd be!!

By running the Dublin marathon I'm hoping to raise some much needed funds for the MHM group. This group is a men's health group set up in Omagh where we meet up once a month for a few hours chat over a cuppa tea/coffee. The group has been going from strength to strength and is open to any men after a friendly chat surrounded in a safe environment where there's help and support available without any judgement.

I'm very thankful for the men's group and the support I've received this tough year and I'd 100% recommend it to any men that's feeling down or low or had any problems going on. Please don't suffer in silence, reach out and get in touch cause I'm glad I did.
