Securing the future of Santa Barbara's No.1 Community Food Forest
Nine years of hard work by volunteers at Mesa Harmony Garden has created:
● A mature Food Forest that…
○ has over 100 fruit trees
○ supplies the food bank with 1000’s Lbs. of fresh produce
○ supports biodiversity
● A neighborhood meeting place that…
○ hosts community activities
○ produces educational events
Now we need your help to keep it funded for many more years to come.

Background
For nine years volunteers have contributed thousands of hours to create and maintain a food forest demonstration site on previously unused land in the heart of the Mesa. This has always been a long-term project with interconnected goals:
● serving the community as a source of fresh, local produce for the Food Bank,
● providing a meeting place and hosting neighborhood activities including talks
and workshops related to gardening and food systems,
● creating a site of urban biodiversity that demonstrates a sustainable vision of
edible landscaping.
Now, with the food forest reaching its maturity, with donations to the food bank starting to approach the garden’s potential, and a consistent team of volunteers dedicated to maintaining the garden… now we’re asking you to make a contribution to help us meet new and increasing costs and secure the future of this amazing food forest - help us...
