Hi,
My name is Dr. Barbara Fluder, and I am an optometrist living and working in northwest Indiana.
I have the opportunity to travel to Haiti in November to perform eye exams for several hundred people in need of assistance.
Many of these people have never been to an eye doctor before nor could they normally afford to.  In addition to a regular eye exam, I will screen and identify those individuals who may be eligible for no-cost cataract surgery as it is available.
My husband (does the pre-screening) and I receive no financial incentive and have to fund our transportation on our own.
