Hello, my name is Wayne and I'm a Canadian living in The Philippines. (I'm having my nephew in Canada post this GoFundMe for me, because GoFundMe doesn't work from the Philippines.)

My mom survived breast cancer 3 years ago, has dealt with other serious health issues since then, and she was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, as well as cancer in her lymph nodes, spine, and brain. Estimates we get say that she has about 4 months to live. I haven't seen her for three years, and I really want to see her one last time before she's gone.

I used all my savings and credit to deal with costs from the Covid 19 epidemic and a Force 5 typhoon, and I haven't been able to financially recover since. I spend all my extra money helping to take care of two Filipino children, ages 6 and 8, that my lady and I took into our home so their parents could work overseas, because it's basically impossible for working-class people to get ahead on the very low wages and salaries that are paid in the Philippines.

I'm getting by financially, but just barely, so there's no way I can afford the trip back to Canada to see my Mom. I'm asking for $3000 USD, which is the minimum I need to be sure that I won't get stranded there if something goes wrong during the trip, and to replace the income I'll lose from not working while I'm gone, and to cover any immigration department fees.
